Jones, who is dark, handled a blast of Twitter badgering before she surrendered, all on the grounds that, as she put it, "I did a motion picture." Twitter would not remark on Yiannopoulos particularly, but rather it affirmed the legitimacy of the notification.
The move speaks to Twitter's most recent endeavor to understand its Wild West notoriety as a safe house for online provocation and misuse while as yet clutching its dedication to free discourse. It's a dubious exercise in careful control, and neither the objectives of misuse nor their claimed harassers are especially fulfilled by its endeavors.
A delegate for Jones did not react to a solicitation for input on Wednesday. Yiannopoulos did not answer to messages looking for input.
